Description of Loyalty program:

Full term and condition:

Asda's loyalty program is in test mode. Surprisingly, this is the first time Asda has offered a loyalty scheme in its 72-year history. It was launched in October 2021. The loyalty program is only available through the "Asda Rewards" app.

Once you install the app, you can start saving cashback for purchases of certain items: Star Products. A Star Product is a nominated product on which you will earn ASDA Rewards value into your ASDA Pounds Cashpot when purchased (for example, purchasing a specific size, brand and type of cereal), collectively known as Star Products.

Once enough cash is accumulated, the money can be used by creating a voucher in the app, which is then scanned at checkout.

This loyalty program is personalized, meaning that each customer is offered rewards specifically for the items they buy most often.

To be a member you must:

  • be aged 18 years of age or over;
  • be resident in the UK; and
  • have a current, valid email account.

What is "five a day?"

"Asda Rewards offers its customers a game of doing missions. For example, buying five drinks a day can earn a "five a day" badge. Extra rewards are earned for completing missions. The number of missions available to you at any time (if any) may vary.

Missions are published in the ASDA Rewards app (and from time to time also on signage in ASDA stores and on promotional banners online within GHS). Details are provided on the criteria you need to meet to complete a Mission, such as spending a certain amount or shopping a certain number of times within a certain period of time or on certain types of products.

Similar tasks are offered for holidays, such as Mother's Day, in which customers will receive £1 cashback on the purchase of a bouquet of flowers worth £10.

As of today (August 2022), the supermarket is expanding the program to customers in all 32 of its stores in West Yorkshire, as well as four stores in the northeast and four stores in central Scotland.
