Blue Light Card Supermarkets

The Blue Light Card is a discount system for health and life safety employees. The discount is available in many UK stores and supermarkets online and offline. To be eligible for the Blue Light Card, you must be an NHS worker, a member of the police or army, the fire department or coastguard, work in the ambulance service or be a veteran of the armed forces. Which supermarket gives a Blue Light Card discount?

Determine which supermarket gives the Blue Light Card discount by searching on the official web page of the program www.bluelightcard.co.uk. A catalog of offers can be found in the panel at the top of the page after logging in. You can also search for "High Street" offers by clicking on "High Street Offers." The website provides a search service for all available offers, as well as by company name and retailers. You can search by company, category or phrase.

Which supermarkets accept the Blue Light Card?

Many large supermarkets in Britain offer Blue Light Card discounts. The size of the discount and the conditions under which it is granted vary from chain to chain.
However, the discounts can be quite large. For example, Argos offers a 4% discount, B&Q - 5%.

Note that these discounts can vary up or down.

Does Argos accept BLC?

You can use the Blue Light Card to get discounts at Argos. Discounts usually range from 4% to 8%, depending on the time of year.

Important: You can only take advantage of a discount at Argos by purchasing vouchers in advance.

Does ASDA accept BLC?

Yes, ASDA participates in the Blue Light Card discount program (in addition to Asda Rewards loyalty program). People that work in the NHS, Emergency Services, Social Services, Social care sector and armed forces are all eligible for the Blue Light Card. Until October 31, 2022, you will receive a 10% discount by showing your card at the checkout. Please note that you may be asked to show an additional document, such as a bank card, to prove that you are a cardholder. Please note that the ASDA Blue Light Card Discount is valid in-store only.

Discount is not valid on George.com, Asda Online Groceries, Asda Tyres, Fuel, all alcohol, Tobacco, Lottery products, Gift Vouchers & Cards, Infant/Formula Milk, Cash-back, Fireworks, Online Games & Instant Tickets, Photo Printing, Saver Stamps, Postage Stamps, 'Top-Up' Mobile Phone Cards, any other online.

Can you use Blue Light Card at Iceland?

The Blue Light Card is valid in Iceland and allows you to save money on your online orders. Customers can use their Blue Light Card online in Iceland (about main Iceland loyalty programm read here). According to the Iceland website, new customers can save £6 if they spend £45 or more online. To take advantage of this discount, you must first log in to the website or the Blue Light Card app.  

Do Сurrys accept Blue Light Card?

The only way to earn a Currys Blue Light Card discount is by purchasing a gift card. Discount is usually in the region of 6-10%.

Does Blue Light Card work in Superdrug?

Not really. The Superdrug store chain offers its customers a 10% discount if they are members of the NHS (National Health Service). Read about the NHS discount program here. To get the discount, you need to show a valid NHS employee ID and a registered card.

What supermarkets don't accept the Blue Light Card?

But not all retailers and supermarkets participate in the Blue Light program. Below is a list of supermarkets that do not accept BLC.

Does Tesco accept the Blue Light Card?

The Tesco supermarket chain does not currently accept the Blue Light Card and does not offer a discount for its members. But Tesco has its own loyalty program and discount card, read how to get a Tesco Clubcard here.

Can I use my Blue Light Card at Sainsbury's?

Sainsburys stores do not accept the Blue Light Card and do not offer a discount for members of this discount system.

Can I use my Blue Light Card at Morrisons?

Part of the Blue Light Card discount program can be used at Morrisons. It can be used with My Morrisons offers, but not with other % off full basket discounts. The Blue Light Card discount cannot be used in conjunction with the Morrisons employee discount card, NHS discount, or teacher discount. The discount cannot be used at Morrisons or Market Kitchen cafeterias.

Can you use the Blue Light Card at Waitrose?

No, Waitrose does not currently offer any discounts for Blue Light Card holders.

Does B&Q offer discounts for the Blue Light Card?

B&Q stores do not offer special discounts for NHS employees and do not participate in the Blue Light Card discount program.

Does Aldi have Blue Light Card discounts?

No, unfortunately, Aldi does not currently offer a special Blue Light Card discount.

Does B&M accept the Blue Light Card?

B&M cannot accept the Blue Light Card at this time.
