The fast-food restaurant chain McDonald's is offering its UK customers a new loyalty scheme called MyMcDonald's Rewards. This loyalty programme is only available in the UK, and only through the McDonald's app.

The essence of the programme is that when you buy your favourite dishes from the McDonald's menu you get a cashback. You get 1 point for every penny you spend. In addition, MyMcDonald's Rewards programme members can win prizes.

The McCafé Rewards loyalty programme (including the digital card) is now part of MyMcDonald's Rewards. All McCafé Rewards loyalty stamps on the digital card will be converted into 300 MyMcDonald's Rewards points when you join the MyMcDonald's Rewards program.

How can I earn points and use McDelivery rewards through the McDonald's app?

You automatically earn points when you place a McDelivery order at a participating restaurant using the McDonald's app. 

Please note that points are not earned on delivery charges, tips for delivery drivers, charitable donations, gift card loading and the purchase of gift vouchers and gift vouchers.

How can I take part in MyMcDonald's Rewards?

MyMcDonald's Rewards Program is open to UK citizens aged 18 or over.

The main feature of the MyMcDonald's Rewards program is that participation is only possible via the app.

So to become a member of MyMcDonald's Rewards program you first need to download the app and register in it. After registering, you will be asked to take part in the MyMcDonald's Rewards program.

Once you have accepted the MyMcDonald's Rewards rules, you will be able to earn and redeem points.

How do I earn McD points?

Points are awarded when you buy McDonald's food. 1 point is credited to your bonus account for each penny.

The purchase of a McDonald's menu meal counts when you order through the McDonald's app at participating restaurants in the loyalty programme. These include Kiosk, Drive-thru, McDelivery via the McDonald's app and at the till.

How do I use my McD points?

You can use your accumulated MyMcDonald's Rewards points once you have accumulated 1500 points or more. Once you have enough points to earn a reward, it will be unlocked in the rewards menu.

To accumulate more points, keep an eye out for bonus offers. If you are a regular McDonald's customer, points will accumulate quickly.

What can I spend my points on?

Depending on the amount of points accumulated, you can receive these types of rewards:

  • 1500 points – Chips, salad, regular McCafé, mini McFlurry, hash brown.
  • 2500 points – Vegetable deluxe, Bacon mayonnaise chicken, Bacon cheese patty, medium fries, Double cheeseburger.
  • 4000 Points – Big Mac, Double Sausage and Egg McMuffin, Big Crispy Chicken Salad, 6 Chicken McNuggets, McChicken Sandwich
  • 6000 Points – Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Happy Meal or Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit

How to get the reward

If you would like to receive a reward, simply log in to a digital kiosk at a participating restaurant using the McDonald's app, select your reward from the rewards menu on the kiosk and complete your order. Alternatively, you can select your chosen reward in the McDonald's app, select "Add to code" and enter that code at the kiosk to receive the reward.

McDonald's offers its customers a nice opportunity to do a good deed. If you don't want to spend your points on treats at McDonald's restaurants, you can donate the value of your points to one of our partner charities.

To donate your accumulated points, go to Rewards and Offers in the McDonald's app and select from the Rewards menu to which of our charity partners you would like to donate the value of your points. When you donate, the value of your points is:
– £1.50 for 1500 points,
– £2.50 for 2500 points
– £4 for 4,000 points.
Once you have selected your organisation, click 'Add to Bag'. Then simply follow the normal checkout process to complete the donation.

Partner charities change from time to time. In 2022 you can choose from the following organisations: Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, FareShare and BBC Children in Need.
